If not already; go Vegan! Or encourage others to do so. For animal products people and other animals suffer, the rainforest gets cut down, water and food gets wasted, it's bad for the environment and your health etc... Even vegetarianism already helps a lot! Would be curious how much people you could change :) June 22 2012
Start to grow your own vegetables! (You don't need a garden this can be done in plant pots and boxes) Encourage others to do the same and all share in the produce when its ready. Great for the environment, saving money and bringing people together :) June 22 2012

"It sounds like a nice idea. But I agree with Joan. It seems more like a survival experiment and not so much like a realistic step towards a more sustainable future. If Maarten (and who ever goes with him;-)) can reduce his electricity consumption let's say by 10% or 20% and than maintain that preferably for longer than one month he might set an example many of us could follow without moving back into a cave. compassionate listening: take a small camping table and two folding chairs and set them anywhere in town. Put on a sign on telling that you will listen to the other person compassionately (like the boddhisattva Avaloketishvara - without judging) to help make the other person feel better.
