Remember April?
The month in which every day I tried to do something to improve the city... There has been some time in between, but finally I made time to finish the final video. I'm happy with it, it was a fun month... You can also check out the action page.

Day 30, Queensday
Today was Queensday, which is a national holiday in the Netherlands. This day is always one big party and since the weather was amazing as well, it really was a very beautiful day. It's pretty much a tradition to sell your old stuff that you don't have any use for anymore, on the street. I was hanging out with friends while combining different things that I did this past month, like giving free hugs, blowing bubbles, lot's of smiling, slacklining etc... Was a nice and very positive day.

Day 29, Press the button
This action was inspired by 'A dramatic surprise on a quiet square', but then with a little less drama and more fun, music and dance! :-) It was great! Most people didn't press the button, but the people that did, responded happy and enthousiastic!! It was exciting to wait for people that dared to push it and see what would happen...
The beautiful filming etc was of course done by Davide!
Thanks Bel!! I had some great help with the choreography and actually with everything! It's nice when different talents come together :-)
i still didn't watch the video until now (i'm so sorry), this looks great, you really made the day for some people.
Awesome! I'm curious what your next project will be and how you will know, since you're not using electricity this month...
Hehe, well my father kept me up to date whenever I saw him. I think he checked the website every day just to see what was going on because I couldn't. And the outcome is to organize activities for children who cannot go on holiday, nice one no?! http://www.iwanttomaketheworldabetterplace.com/idea/organize-activities-for-children-in-disadvantaged

Upcoming, press the button!
This sunday I'm planning a little something special, inspired by the following viral video.
I would like to do something similar, maybe with a little less drama :-) But with more fun!! The idea is to put a button on Schouwburgplein and to let things happen when somebody presses it! I don't know yet exactly what. It will depend on who will join and what they feel like doing. Can be as simple as giving flowers or doing a little dance!
So do you feel like having some fun with us? This sunday, we meet around 13:00 in front of the Schouwburg. We take some time to figure out what to do, and then we do it! It's easy... :-)
Oh wow, now I am almost sad that I'm going to this lovely retreat for a week! First you announce that you're throwing a party tomorrow and now this! Please post a vimeo afterwards, so I can still join in on the fun after :)
How about singing the person who pressed the button a serenade/ love-song?
Or maybe you could give them a choice between three buttons: love/ laugh/ action (or similar)? Love could be a hug/ lovesong/ sincere compliment; laugh could be lots of things actually (like a waterballoon-fight, which they would have to join or dodge) and action could be a stunt/ chase/ dance/ waterballoon-fight too.
Do you know the game that you throw a relatively big waterballoon from one person to the other and you increase the distance every time? I don't know why, but people find it mesmerizing and very exciting to watch, just the thrill of "when will it burst and who will get wet?" Really very simple fun ;) -

Day 24 - Helping out
Today was funny, I was buying bread at Bammetje and the guy before me forgot to bring his wallet. So I offered to pay for him, at first he denied, but since he really seemed to need it ( I don't know why, but he looked a little troubled) I conviced him. He insisted on paying me back, so I gave him my card number.
Afterwards I realised I forgot two things. Why didn't I just tell him to pay the favor forward? I like those favor chains and I could have started one here! And I should have gotten a picture with him :-)

Day 23, installed a Wormery
What is that you might ask? Well... It looks like this:
And they turn your organic waste into soil! And yes, there are worms living inside :-)
A video maybe later...
Yeah, it's quite nice! They are not so big and fit perfectly on a balcony (where I put mine) specific size is: 30 cm (H) x 41 cm (B) x 41 cm (D). I got two bags of worms with it, but I'm not sure how many that is! I didn't feel like counting them :-) But supposively the wormery is capable of managing the organic waste of about 3 to 4 people. So that's quite a lot!
I got mine here: http://wormenbakken.nl/tiger-wormery-2-laden/ Or actually I got it from my parents :-) It's about 90 euro.
Because of the worms the compost is not supposed to smell like much at all, so you could even have it inside. With the little tap on the front you can remove the liquid, when you dilute this liquid you can use it as fertilizer for the plants. And of course the compost as well, but this takes a bit more time...
Here you can see how to set one up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cX15Wum6fQGrandpa/ma alert! Looking for an elderly man or woman!!
