On the verge of a new month... I give you october!
While I'm eating plants and excited to see if next month I'll be tranforming a catholic convent or reforming the eductation system, I'll share with you how I experienced giving for a month! Which was challenging in it's own way...

Help! What did I give?
Last month was a great month, because my challenge was to experience giving! After a couple of days I realised that to be able to experience giving, it was best to keep it small, for instance a smile, visit, website (more about that here). I also noticed I couldn't really experience giving when I was busy filming/photographing it. So I didn't!!
Which leaves me without any material to show after this month.
Can you help me with that?
If you remember I gave you something last month, could you make a picture of it? And if it wasn't something physical - a smile, hug, talk, helping hand, visit etc - a picture of yourself? A short description (4 words or something) will help clearify what the gift was :-)
For instance:
-----------------
What did I receive this month?
The possibility to give :-)
------------
You can send them to my email, if you want to make a super short video, send if over WeTransfer.
Gratefully forever...
M

Hey Maarten, good luck with your challenge during november! If you need any help or recipes, feel free to visit my site http://www.deplantaardigekeuken.nl or to contact me :)
Thanks for the tip!! I'm thinking to invite people (who have more experience with being vegan) this month to cook together with me. Would you feel like ones?
Yeah sure sounds like fun! I live in Den Haag, where you at? There's a vegan Halloween potluck tomorrow night in Utrecht by the way... will be fun, with a lot of good vegan food! https://www.facebook.com/events/285698088205928/?fref=ts

It takes a few weeksand than the addiction for cheese and other things is over. Cheese has an opiate-like effect on humans, which is a bit hard. Don't worry, you'll survive. :)
That's why:
http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/blogs/thenextgreatgeneration/2012/04/culinarily_curious_addicted_to.htmlAhaaa, so it's the opiate-effect then ;) Well, I'm hooked, can eat less of the stuff, but to go cold turkey? Glad I don't have to :)! Good luck Maarten, I'll try to remember about the cookbook next saturday!
Hi Verena, cold turkey is not vegetarian, hahaha
I think the effect is not that heavy. For me it was just 3 weeks (I think) looking at cheese with the thought that I would like a piece and than it was over. Running a pancakehouse here in Karise (DK) I used to pick the small left overs of the cheese, after cutting, and put them in my mouth.
About 4 weeks, after I was free for cheese, I tried that again, just for fun, I can tell you, it was such a horrible greasy taste in my mouth, I really can not understand that I have been eating that stuff. So artificial... and the cheese it selv, is known as a good special Danish Havarti.
So, no turkeys, don't worry. :) -

I've been helping people with their websites like crazy... Websites are popular and apparently this is one of my most desired qualities at the moment :-)

Have you seen the movie 'Pay it forward'; that movie is a great example of giving (only the end is a little bit sad). Really, you should see it!
Yes, you are such a hippie, but an adorable one ;)!
Now I come to think of it, I think being called a hippie is somehow "hip" again nowadays, don't know why :)
@Nina G, yes! Beautiful movie! Don't remember the sad ending anymore, maybe it's time for a refresh.
@Verena, hehehehe, yeah. Being a hippie is hip. Just don't tell Cartman: http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/103809/hippie-infestation
Won't tell him ;) It's too late anyway: the college-know-it-all hippies have long since taken over, hahaha!
