I don't think it necessarily has to be. Something like 'Don't create waste for a month' also doesn't directly impact others, but by doing it and documenting it, I will become more aware of it and therefor maybe others.

Of course it would be nice if it impacts others somehow! But I guess since buying and eating organic would make the world a little bit a better place, it would fit the bill...

I agree, the environment impacts all of us. And he could invite friends to a nice organic meal;-)

Many people especially in non-western countries suffer from toxic pesticides as they agriculture without protection the fruits and vegetables that we eat.
