Latest progress:
This project is closing... but... it will continue as abetterplace.io!
I executed this idea, you can view the end result here!
On the 21th of September the Netherlands celebrate 'KeepItCleanDay!'. All illegal litter will be removed from the streets, the parks, rivers, forest and public traffic system. It's a grass root initiative and we work without money! So... Why don't you empower the whole Rotterdam to join the KeepItCleanDay! www.keepitcleanday.nl An idea from Annette

well if everyone gets it, let's all get together and waste no time :-)
It ain't over, until it's over! (and in the meantime we're preparing for Maarten's magic in Rotterdam!) ;)
While the cause is noble, I doubt if I find this the best thing to do for Maarten. This way it is not his own project anymore, but he (this site) is merely a campaign instrument for somebody else's ideas. Annette is probably the same Annette that writes almost all content on keepitcleanday.nl
Dear Bart, thanks for your honest opinion. I appreciate it, although I disagree. The only reason my name is on the KeepItCleanDay website is because I write the content. It has nothing to do with who I am. I'm just a puppet in this world, just like everybody else, trying to make it a little bit more beautiful then when I arrived here. ;) It's not mine to judge other ideas, either to compare them. I trust Maarten in this. I know Maarten a little bit, and I'm sure he can make it his own project. And he will! Just like you can make it your own! Or anyone else could make it his or hers. We all can make this world a bit more beautiful, and now there's for once a possibility to do it together! Let's enjoy, instead of judging.
@ Bart & Annette: I find I have to agree with the both of you.
I saw your presentation at Inspiration Shot Annette and I enjoyed it very much. I also thought that it was so very courageous to take on a project like this! I think it's a wonderful thing to unite people in an action like this, which will have such immediate impact. A wonderful coincidence that it happens to be on Peace Day, because I think uniting people like that is a true act of Peace-building :)
But I agree with Bart that it feels a bit strange to have an idea posted here, where there are obviously already many people involved. Do the voters on this idea come from this website alone, or did they see the post on the FB-page of the Keep It Clean Day?
I am very certain that Maarten will find a way to still make a difference in his own way, because he always does! In the end he will make the world a better place no matter what, because secretly, he's been executing Dave's idea (Yesterday, I was clever) all along ;)!
@Annette, thank you for responding. My opinion is not about judging this Keep it clean day. I like the idea and hope that the day will be a big success. And at the same time, i still feel the same, about Maarten becoming an instrument for another project. However Maarten would definitely add his own approach to this idea if it wins this month, i still hope that this site enables people to come up with new ideas that are still not covered by existing projects.
I expect that most of the voters are not from this site's own community (as they are almost all anonymous - you can see this by clicking on Votes on this page) but all from the Keep it clean day community.
And i feel strongly that Annette should have been transparant here in her involvement in this project.
