Find someone who don´t have nothing, and change his life for one month. Try to find a job for him, a place to stay and clean herself, and something to eat. If you can change his life you will change the world An idea from Jorge Lopez

someone who wants to change his situation, consciously or unconsciously (someone who is suffering) and don´t have the "tools", the money, the confidence, the opportunity.... I think if you help someone like this, so he can keep going with a healthy life (especially mentaly) you are really changing the world to a better place.
I don't agree.... if someone really wants to change his/her situation, here in Holland, yes, u can do so. Sure, the way is ruff and takes looooots of energy, will, challenge etc etc... but it has to come from the person itself.
So, maybe that person would have to find Maarten?
i agree. change comes from within. and in Holland if you are stuck in your life its often your own doing. So then it comes down to pure will power to change.
just one thing... could you explain to me what the goverment or whatever do with the people without job or/and home etc.? Anyway sometimes, I now shouldnt be like this, but you need help from your enviroment, your society if you had a hard time in your life, and you don´t have (for any reason) family or friends, you can fall to a really deep hole. I met one guy in London, one time I was bit drunk and I just arrived to the city, I didnt know anyone so I saw a homeless, he asked me for a cigarrete and I asked him if he didnt mind if I smoke with him. After one hour talking I discovered that the man had just incredible bad luck, I could be so easy in the same situation, he left the alcohol and now its doing as a guide in another way to see london (you can found info on internet) but the chances for him was not so easy and he had to work really hard for long time to really change his situation, to get a good job you need a space to clean yourself everyday, to clean your clothes, to eat properly.... Ah! and the last thing, you know where this guy come from.... holland (this history its true, but maybe is a special case, but please if you can tell me what is the policy with the homeless there I will be really pleased because more told me)
Jorge, In Holland, you will always get some kind of welfare that keeps you of the streets. Its not a pleasant life persee, but you wont go homeless.
The homeless people here are a different story.
Most of them have psychological problems and cant take care of them selves. Every year, psych institutions 'dump' clients on the street to vend for them selves. Because there is no room or money for them.
we have plenty of prison space, but no beds to take care of our long term mentally ill.
